The Cancer Society’s mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer. With 71 people diagnosed daily, and Māori twice as likely to die from cancer as non-Māori, our work is vital. Our passionate team tackles key advocacy issues, from prevention to cancer care. We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead on some of our cancer prevention and early detection initiatives.

 

Key Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of government processes
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand health system and health determinants
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti and/or Te Ao Māori (advantageous)
  • Strong relationship management and partnership-building skills
  • Experience working with community-based organisations
  • Methodical and pragmatic project management
  • Clear, concise communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to synthesize evidence from multiple sources into actionable insights
