Today’s announcement of funding towards providing accommodation and transport for cancer patients is being welcomed by the Cancer Society.
“This funding will help us provide the essential services many New Zealanders rely on as they go through cancer. The cancer experience can be even harder when you’re struggling to get to treatment and need to stay away from home.”
“2020 has been a very challenging year for us with many of our key fundraising events cancelled, such as Daffodil Day in Auckland,” says Lucy Elwood, Cancer Society CEO.
The Cancer Society has largely relied on the generosity of New Zealanders to fund its services which have seen an increase in demand.
