CE confirmed in permanent role

The Board of the Cancer Society of New Zealand is pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Nicola Coom as Chief Executive.

CSNZ Board Chair Julian Grennell said Nicola has been “a strong advocate for families impacted by cancer for the past 15 years and brings a depth of leadership and vision to this role”.

“Over the last three years with the Cancer Society, Nicola has played a pivotal role in shaping our organisation’s future. She led the successful amalgamation of the Cancer Society Canterbury-West Coast and Otago-Southland Divisions, championed the introduction of new innovative digital services, oversaw the opening of the Canterbury Cancer Centre, convened our inaugural Cancer Research and Innovation Conference, and helped establish a joint venture focused on pre- and post-cancer rehabilitation. Most recently, she has guided us through the development of our new strategic plan, ensuring the voices of people affected by cancer are at its heart.

“We are thrilled to formally confirm Nicola’s appointment as Chief Executive and are confident that under her leadership the Cancer Society of New Zealand will continue to grow its impact, strengthen its voice, and work collaboratively towards a future free from cancer.”
