You can make sure no one faces cancer alone!
You can give hope to Kiwis facing cancer today.
Make your gift before 31st March to claim one-third back this year.
Your donation will provide essential care, support, and life-saving research for New Zealanders, like Jackie, impacted by cancer.
When Jackie received her cancer diagnosis over the phone at work, her world stopped.
"It was like that scene on TV when people’s legs collapse underneath them—that’s what happened to me. I just collapsed on the ground."
Jackie, a single mum to her 13-year-old son Zac, was hit with devastating news. Her bowel cancer had already spread to her liver, covered in tumours. The largest measuring 10cm. Surgery wasn’t an option, leaving chemotherapy as her only hope.
"I wear a chemo pump for 46 hours every few weeks. I tell Zac, ‘this is mummy’s medicine, she’s trying to get better.’”
Balancing treatment while caring for Zac, who has non-verbal autism, has been incredibly challenging. Chemotherapy has left Jackie exhausted, suffering from neuropathy and fatigue, making daily life even harder. Even with a strong support network, the journey is overwhelming.
This is where your support makes all the difference.
Your donation can provide free nursing and counselling services, transport to treatment, and a safe place to stay for people like Jackie. It can also help fund important research, like Dr Jeff Smaill’s work at the Cancer Society Research Centre, which focuses on new treatments for cancers like Jackie’s.
“I don't want anyone to go through what I'm going through. I don't want anyone to look at their child and think I'm not going to see him grow up… that’s why research is so important.”
Jackie’s story is just one of thousands. Every day, more Kiwis hear those life-changing words: "You have cancer." But with your support, they won’t have to face it alone.
Donate now and claim one-third of your donation back this year when you give before March 31st.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. This is more than a donation—it’s a gift of hope, comfort, and a lifeline for families facing cancer.
